Thank God for 10 years. Everyone knows that following your dream takes work. Sometimes it  can happen overnight and sometimes it can take a while, but the one thing you must always do is be persistent and keep focused on the success of the dream. Thank you to all who have supported Sheila O and the Show. It is a joy and a pleasure to be of service to the community at large and abroad. It would be a delight for the show to serve for many more years.

Lap Band Procedure

I was wondering how I was going to word this information  and share it with all of you.
Everyone always says I have a new year’s resolution and may or may not live up to it. I never haveone because they are always too hard to keep. In the year 2008 I lostmy sister Barbara Reed on January 14th 2008 and I have lost my motherand father all three of them passed away due to a heart attack. This fact  stayed on my mind throughout 2008. I prayed and prayed and I had amessage from the lord saying you need to get healthy in 2009. I went onthe net and researched how I could do this and found a doctor whoperformed the first lap band procedure Dr. David Davtyan. I made anappointment with him and found him very interesting. He also had thelap band procedure and had lost 90lbs.

I felt so goodafter I left from meeting with the doctor. I made an appointment withhim to do the procedure on December 18th 2008 in Cedar Sinai Hospital. He was so thrall; he had me take every kind of test there was to makesure that I could have the lap band. I passed every test. I had itdone, the next day I was ready to come home. I never felt sick just alittle sore in the tummy area.

I already feel good and it’s just 33lbs in 3 weeks. I rested over the Christmas Holiday and did notmiss the turkey, dressing, potato salad, sweet potato pie or chocolatecake. I had just had all of that for thanksgiving I just had clearbroth, water and green tea. My first success came at a loss of 35 lbs.

Every 2 weeks they would add more things I can have. I can have 2 oz ofliquid and 2 to 4oz of food now. With the lap band you just feel fullall the time and have to remember to eat.Now I can say I have somethingto look forward to in the coming year and that is being healthy. I havebeen getting creative in the kitchen with new foods less meat and moreveggies and fruit.and as of today I have lost a total of 80lbs.

Now that the weight is falling off I am entering phase 2. At an average weight loss of 13 lbs per month I need to start firming everything. I will start doing that with a personal trainer starting next week. I am so excited. I am not only looking good but I am feeling mighty good too!
If anyone has any questions for me please feel free to respond. I will keep you all posted on how I’m doing. if I can help you with getting healthy in 2009. Let meknow your thoughts, send comments to SheilaO@SheilaOShow.com. Talk to me!
